I was able to connect with Anusara and Acroyoga teacher, Jeremy Simon, at Wanderlust a week and a half ago for an impromptu interview. I have been a fan of Jeremy’s since I took one of the best kidney loop classes EVER with Jeremy about a year ago. Actually, I was a fan before that, but that class confirmed that I was on to something. He kept saying the mantra, Breathe Back! and I felt so rested, so healed, so full in my back body-big time purna. And I think, if I recall correctly, he integrated some acroyoga moves, which I have been so wanting to get involved with. (If any of you, blessed readers, want to share in a comment below this post why acroyoga is the bomb, and why I should get my booty to an acroyoga class, please chime in!) Acroyoga, as Jeremy explains, is a combination of acrobatics, yoga, and thai massage- the current that runs through, being community. Jeremy says of community…”That’s what I’m all about, that’s what I love, and that’s why I’m here.” From what I’ve observed, I would agree that Jeremy is all about community. While at Wanderlust, I saw him gleefully enmeshed in a what looked like a giant group hug tumble weed during Jai Uttal‘s kirtan, plus I saw Jeremy bustling about at Wanderlust roaming with different friends just about everytime I looked up from my sandwich. Jeremy truly is friend to all!
You can find Jeremy on lovelightandflight.com (I did a big “aw!” when I saw the image on the homepage). Jeremy also has a Acroyoga workshop at Yoga Kula SF coming up on Sat, Aug 15.
