We have alkalike and acidic levels in our body if our body is to acidic it can cause discomfort and disease. I'm always interested in healthy food ideas and inspirational tips to stay in tune with my food mood. Food can be very distracting and as a practitioner of yoga I find it a real necessary day to day challenge to keep on track and eat well. The times when I eat light I feel great and more spiritually connected and can even manage my emotions better, when I eat badly I am more off centre and don't handle little disturbances in my day nearly as well. Yoga has helped with recognising the moment when I am about to eat badly, acknowledging the reasons for it and taking charge of the moment before it gets out of hand. Yoga has helped with bringing this strength and awareness and better eating has helped the yoga. The balance that is gained from yoga needs to be applied to our food connection.
I find personally bad eating comes from lack of consciousness at the time and being off centre and disconnection with my body. When I know it is on my mind to binge out on negative food and I am able to do some centring work at that time, I find it helps enourmously along with having a food plan and eating in tune with my constitution.
Thanks for the reminder Rena

Hi Rena, this movement to unite food and yoga is very much in keeping with the Tantric perspective of Anusara yoga. Tantra holds that our senses, including delighting in and savoring our food, can be a portal, a gateway to our highest self. This approach is modern, refreshing, and keeps us at peace with our body and our body's needs. Very cool stuff, indeed!

Great article. The idea of food for fuel always seemed so dull to me, but your suggested approach has a real appeal and sounds really refreshing. As to your question... complete and utter sabotage, but I'm starting to understand that now:)
