This post comes with little notice. My apologies for not thinking to promote it here sooner, but this Saturday, Kenny Graham and Samantha Shakti Brown are holding a Yoga Workshop dedicated to the breath of heart and the birth of light at Yoga Is Youthfulness in Mountain View.
The workshop will run between 2-4 this Saturday and cost is by donation. This looks to be the end the line of a list of fundraising events put on by Tina Tran’s Seva Challenge in order to contribute to a humanitarian effort in Uganda.
The Seva Challenge is a program run by Off the Mat, Into The World®. It aims to inspire activism and leadership in its participants (mostly the yoga community) while collaborating resources to help global communities in crisis. My goal is to reach a fundraising target of $20,000 by December 15, 2009 in order to journey to Uganda with my yoga teacher and mentor, Seane Corn. We, along with other successful participants, will contribute to the following humanitarian projects:
* building an eco birthing center with a sustainable garden
* building a primary school, housing for the teachers and their families, and developing a farm on the school’s property

I encourage you to get out of the cold of December this Saturday and participate in this workshop with these are two amazing teachers and help this cause. If you can’t make it, but would still like to help, you can make a donation through the “Donate Now” button at the upper right of their website.
Full details on the workshop can be found here.
Namaste
